Overview

Candelaria Racing Products TCAS is a state-of-the-art sensor suite that (depending on model) can detect overlap, track closing rate from behind, wirelessly alert users via IOS/Android display, and log to popular data systems.

Models

TCAS-LE (Launch Edition): Sensor suite incorporating overlap and Virtual Blue Flag technology to advise of potential overtaking cars. Launch edition hardware includes bluetooth functionality for future TCAS Android app.

TCAS-BSP (Blind Spot Protection) provides overlap protection and can be upgraded to provide VBF (Virtual Blue Flag) capabilities in the future

Overlap detection

Have you ever lost a car in your mirror? You know he's going to make a move, but is it going to be THIS corner? You glance in your mirrors and he's GONE! He's obviously in one of your blind spots. But is he on your outside backing up, trying to get a run out of the corner? Is he inside of you? You better make the right call...

Virtual Blue Flag

Endurance racing, multi-class racing, HPDE, more often than not there are multiple classes on track with each other. At some point you are going to look in your rear view mirror and "discover" a faster car simply appeared out of nowhere. This is a dangerous situation. The approaching car likely assumes you are aware of his presence and will treat any missed apex or wide entry as an opportunity to pass.

TCAS in action

TCAS production hardware in action at the 2019 SCCA runoffs @ VIR. My T2 Corvette was sharing the track with GT1 cars, making me a juicy target. TCAS kept me aware of everything going on behind me.
